Toner, drum and ink cartridge: what is the difference?
Toner holds the powder used by a laser printer. The imaging drum transfers the image to paper during the laser-printing process. An ink cartridge holds liquid ink for an inkjet printer. These components perform different roles and are not interchangeable.

Are toner and drum always separate?
No. Depending on the printer, the drum may be integrated into the toner cartridge or sold as a separate component with its own replacement cycle. The technical information and supply reference identify the configuration used by your device.
How do you know which component to replace?
Start by reading the message displayed by the printer and consult its instructions. A low-toner warning does not automatically require a new drum. Likewise, a drum warning is not necessarily resolved by replacing toner alone.
